LA Times Article

Steve Lopez quoted me in his article on healthcare in the LA Times. I wrote him an email after he published his column "Take a Deep Breath and Read". We spoke on the phone yesterday and Grandma. W. emailed to say there was a quote today. Let me know if you have a tough time opening the link. I can email it to you.

I was able to read it, I'm glad that they used your quote, that makes me so angry that you have to spend so much time (time that could be spent enjoying your child, enjoying your husband, enjoying your life) on the phone cutting through red tape. My husband's former practice hired a woman whose only job was to literally be on the phone all day long with insurance companies/medicaid/etc. trying to get claims ironed out. That was her only duty. So ridiculous.

after reading your article...i want to take back my comment here from the other day - i didn't mean "cool" to be quoted in a good way - it sucks that you had to be quoted. xo jcn

I wish that someone would figure out the real cost of all this is -- it probably costs more in employee salaries for all the parties to argue that it isn't their responsibility to cover the cost of the meds than the actual cost of the medication.
