I often think about how random and statistically rare our lives are, since Froggy's diagnosis with CF, and then Epilepsy. It's hard not to ask the question: What are the chances?
But because there is some balance in this world... we also experience random kindness, and strange coincidences where it's hard again not to say: What are the chances?
The day before my sister left, we drove to Long Beach to visit the magnificent aquarium. We'd never been and Froggy (aka "Thrill seeker") had a blast petting sharks and stingrays.
After the aquarium, we walked around the marina and rested (because it as over 100 degrees!) by the carousel. A woman walks over to us, a familiar toddler on her hip and says, "Are you Froggymama?" She did not say, "Are you Elise?" She said, "Are you Froggymama?" After she said it, I recognized her. We read each other's blogs! Her daughter also has Cystic Fibrosis, and she is the only person, the only person I know who lives in the area, and we just happened to bump into each other, on the one random day we decide to go to the aquarium. What are the chances?
We were both careful to keep our kiddos apart. People with CF can not be around one another because of cross-contamination of lung bugs, which is another crappy aspect of CF. The only community we have is online.
I just can't believe the randomness of life. Or maybe not so random, maybe it is directed - like a reality show that's scripted. Sorry bad analogy. Anyway, I'm still in awe of how our life unfolds. If you'd like to check out the cutie pie and her mama, visit their blog HERE.

That is very cool that you met her but so sad about not being able to have a community in real life. I had no idea about the cross contamination issues. :(
I'm so glad you made human contact with the mom though - yay!!!
how bizarre! i had just checked out your blog that day while ojaio was napping, and was looking at the post from your sisters visit. i then called my husband and complained about the house being 100 degrees, and he convinced me to hop on the 710 and get down to shoreline village to keep the little woman cool once she woke up. when i looked over and saw your daughter i did a double take. then i saw you and your sister and was freaking out. i was seriously shaking. what are the chances? i too was left obsessing over how random it was for us to both be there at that exact time, and completely in awe of how our lives unfold. it was nice meeting you in person.
That is just great that you all got to meet, and as you say, what a coincidence.
Wow, is that not random or what!
