I love the drum. Where is it from? They used to be popular souvenirs from Haiti until the danger of disease (anthrax? I don't remember) became a problem. The carving looks Haitian.
I'll bet that was a banging good time, and yes, I'm sure your neighbors were glad when they were done. LOL
When I first went to Haiti (in 1969)before you were born, LOL, stuff like that was sold in the marketplace.
A few years later when I was talking with someone, they said thatthey could no longer be brought in because of the potential for disease. Perhaps that has been cleared up. Please let me know what you find out.
No, I'm not the photographer. My DIL is. It is my camera though. I find that owning a good camera does not a photographer make.
